LEGIO XX VALERIA VICTRIX:  This legion served Rome throughout the empire for at least three hundred years.  LEGIO XX participated in the Roman invasion of Britain in AD 43, and in AD 83, the legion was present at the Battle of Mons Graupius in Scotland, when the Roman Army decisively defeated a massive Celtic army.  Members of the recreated LEGIO XX portray 1st century AD Roman arms and equipment, as well as the camp life of  Roman soldiers and their dependents.  For more information, turn your browser to http://www.larp.com/legioxx/index.html

APPIN HISTORICAL SOCIETY:  This group portrays part of the Stewart of Appin clan regiment on its way to help Bonnie Prince Charlie put the Stuarts back on the British throne in the Jacobite Rising of 1746.  Group members portray 1740’s Highland dress and weapons and demonstrate aspects of camp life.  For information, see http://www.appins.org/

84TH REGIMENT OF FOOT (ROYAL HIGHLAND EMMIGRANTS):  The 84th was an infantry regiment in the British Army from 1775-1784, and fought in the Revolutionary War.  Formed from Highland Scots living in the American colonies, the 84th served King and Country well, and its members settled in Canada after the war.  Today’s 84th portrays a Light Infantry company and displays the uniform and arms of the British Army Highland soldier of the 1770’s.  For information, click on http://84thregiment.org/

SUBJECTS OF THE QUEEN:  This group portrays the British Army Highland soldier during the period of the 1870’s – 1880’s, when the British Army still went to war in red coats carrying the .450/577 Martini-Henry rifle.  SOTQ portrays the camp life of both officers and men, and the officer’s ladies demonstrate the domestic side of military life.  For further information contact Dan Peer at sotq@ptd.net

15TH (SCOTTISH) RECONNAISSANCE REGIMENT:  The 15th Recce Regt served in WWII campaigns in Europe with the British Army’s 15th (Scottish) Division.  The unit is dedicated to interpreting the life of the WWII Scottish Soldier through displays of weapons, uniforms, and restored military vehicles.  For information see http://www.15threcce.org/LivingHistory.html
