Children's Games
The children's games are held Saturday afternoon during the games. The Children's games are loosely modeled after the adult professional and amateur games and are open to children up to 15 years of age. The times for the Children's Games will be announced as we get closer to the Games weekend.
Children compete in four or five different events (depending on their age), and compete within their own age bracket: 5 and
under, 6/7, 8/9, 10/11 and 12 and over. The events include foot races, bale tossing, brick throwing, the discus (frisbee) throw,
and the "caber" toss (the caber is a hollow cardboard tube). Ribbons are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finishers. All
others get a participant ribbon. The field is usually crowded, so heats are run with several competitors at a time. Each
participant gets to keep their "discus". We encourage all children attending the games to participate, and all who do have a
great time!
Schedule information to follow.
We are also looking for
parents of the participants to volunteer as coaches and judges.
